2 old boards I pressure washed, cut and hung as shelves for my wife after she painted them.
DIY Nylites | The Nylite Project | Summer Yellow
After seeing photos of so many great looking nylites floating around tumblr, I couldn’t resist ordering a pair for myself and giving ‘customizing’ them a shot. I had so many ideas it was hard to narrow it down to just one. Considering it is my first time, I thought I better keep it basic.
So, wanting these to be my go to summer shoes, I needed them to be versatile yet out of the box. I finally settled on solid Golden Yellow. I used only 3/4 of the dye hoping for a washed out, sunfaded look, that would only get better with wear. After soaking them for about 40 minutes, I hung them to dry overnight in front of a fan and slipped them on the next day.

DIY: Timex watch from Target $39.99 and J-Crew band 2 for $20.00.
I use the thin knife blade to remove the pins that hold in the watch strap. The ends of the metal bars are spring loaded and have a notch in them so you just slid it back and remove them to take off the strap then put the bars back in, slid your band through and you’re done. Its about 1/3rd of the price, lights up and has the date in the dial unlike the Timex for J-Crew watch.
